Four Favorites September | Fake Food Free

We are well into fall and I couldn’t be more excited about it. And by well into, I mean I have all kinds of fall in my heart. Mother nature and her 95+ degree days clearly does not. Despite them, cooler mornings do hint that it will feel like fall soon.

Another end of the month has rolled around and that means another edition of my four favorites where I share a brand, book, blog and break that I brightened my month. Satisfy your sweet tooth, brush up on your writing skills, fill up on comfort food and take a hike.

Honey Dates from Dates by DaVall | Four Favorites | Fake Food Free

Honey Dates from Dates by DaVall – I’m lucky enough to get these at my farmers market, but you can order them online. Grown in Indio, California, I was introduced to the honey variety of dates just this year. Now I keep a carton in the fridge, sometimes for baking, but most often for snacking.

How to Write Short by Roy Peter Clark – I’m just getting started with this one, but I’m looking forward to all it is going to teach me. The book provides thirty-five tools for short, effective writing.

A Lemon Tree Cafe – Lilia’s blog is written in both Polish and English. I enjoy her moody photos and currently I can’t get enough of all the fall comfort foods in her feed.

Road’s End and Mist Falls, Kings Canyon National Park – We finally made it back up to the mountains after a bit of hiatus this summer. We decided to take the long drive through Kings Canyon to the Road’s End and make a 4 mile hike to Mist Falls. The trail runs along the river and offers meadows, wooded areas and rocky climbs. It’s a completely unique area compared to what we usually see in Sequoia National Park. In a few short weeks, though, the snow will fall and you won’t be able to make it back to these trails until next summer.
